It's Wednesday morning, it's 8 o'clock, and I'm lucky enough to be one of those who've already been able to test Spiderman 2 ! At the time of writing this article, I've played the game for 6 hours and my feelings so far: what a blast! Visually, the game is breathtaking, the combat phases are ultra dynamic (like its predecessor), the story hooks me from the start and the possibility of being able to control the two Spiderman in cooperation is an undeniable asset.
The first hour of play
From the first seconds, we are immediately immersed in the atmosphere of the game! Imagine, the first thirty minutes of the game consists of facing an overpowered enemy who is ravaging the city of New York (promise, no spoilers here). The combat is clearly incredible, we alternate between the destruction of the boss, mini combat phases with other enemies, crossing buildings in full destruction ... In short, it's crazy!
We immediately realize that the bar has been set very high in terms of graphics by Insomniac Games as well as the gameplay which is ultra fluid and acrobatic which is offered to us.
Open World: New York
Second slap! The game's visual execution and attention to detail in recreating the bustling streets of New York City are breathtaking: from the glittering skyscrapers to the intricate character models, Spider-Man 2 delivers a visual masterpiece that truly showcases the power of the PS5.
Exploring Manhattan can be done in two ways, either by swinging from building to building or by using your hang glider following the air currents. We really feel that the developers have worked on this part, in fact compared to the previous opus the movement system is much faster! The introduction of the new movement system, namely switching from swinging through the city to using the hang glider, is very appreciable.
Also note the appearance of 5 new districts.
The fights
Another slap? Oh yes! They are very very very dynamic , from the beginning of the game but they become even more intense as I acquire gadgets, skills and new moves.
Whether it's Miles Morales or Peter Parker, the power these protagonists wield is phenomenal! And you're not ready for the symbiote...
As you fight, you unlock new skills that boost the power and speed of your two characters, and they each have their own skill tree . I was pleasantly surprised to find a third skill tree that will be used to directly improve the duo.
The skins
Obviously when you make custom controllers one of the things you're most excited to see are the skins! Well I'm far from disappointed by what Marvel's Spiderman 2 offers us in terms of outfits. Each of the protagonists has their own gallery, and each skin offers outfit variations that are all more stylish than the others with many references to other Marvels.

To conclude my review of Spiderman 2 , the graphics are breathtaking, the improvement of the gameplay, the captivating story and the innovative features make this game a must-have for fans of the spider-man and video game enthusiasts.
I am sure that he will conquer your heart as he conquered mine!
