How-to: Configure PS5 Paddles
Before starting this guide, make sure to check if your controller is properly paired with your console. To be sure, you can connect it directly with a USB-C cable . Now that your controller is properly connected to your console, it's time to connect the PS5 paddles .
1. Enables configuration mode
To enter setup mode for your PS5 controller paddles , press and hold the center button on the rear paddles for 3 seconds. Does the red light turn on? That's a good sign; you're ready to set up your PS5 paddles.
2. Choose and configure the buttons
Now that you're in setup mode, it's time to configure your PS5 paddles and choose which button you want to assign to each paddle.
- Select the button you want to configure and hold it down along with the palette you want to configure.
You can program any of the following 12 buttons: X, O, triangle, square, up, down, left, right, R1, R2, R3, L1, L2, L3.
- The red light will flash to confirm that the configuration has been taken into account.
Repeat the same operation for the other palette!
3. Finalize the configuration
Once your palettes are configured, it's time to exit configuration mode:
- Press the center button again for 3 seconds. The red light will turn off, indicating that you've exited setup mode. Your PS5 paddles are ready for action.

How to reset PS5 paddles?

- First option: Return to setup mode as explained above and program your PS5 paddles again.
- Option Two: Use a paperclip or the metal pin that came with your PS5 controller's custom paddles to reset the settings. Insert the pin into the small hole to the right of the center button (circled in red in the image below) for 5 to 10 seconds. You can then reconfigure your paddles using the same procedure.
