It's done, Sony has finally unveiled the PS5 logo at CES 2020! For some, it's a bit disappointing, for others it seems logical. After all, why change something that works?

Of course, this conference isn't just about the PlayStation 5, but about Sony in general. That didn't stop us from gaining some interesting insights. Here's everything you need to know:

PS4 Figures

The first figure concerns PS4 sales, which as of December 31, 2019, represent 106 million consoles sold worldwide. This makes the PS4 the second best-selling console in the world (behind the PS2). To these 106 million consoles sold, we must add 1.15 billion games sold since 2013. A little reminder: Sony's most lucrative year remains 2017 with... 20.2 million consoles sold!

Sony has been very quiet about the future of VR with the release of its PS5, but it does point out that 5 million PlayStation VR units have been sold since its launch. Regarding the online segment, the number of subscribers is on the rise: 38.8 million at the end of 2019 and 103 million active users on the PlayStation Network.

PS5 Announcements – CES 2020

Well... Nothing new! In fact, the 5 data presented at the Sony CES 2020 conference were already communicated to us at the end of 2019. In other words:

• The arrival of 3D Audio sound allows for a much more immersive gaming experience
• A controller with a haptic perception system as well as adaptive triggers that can be configured
• An Ultra-Fast SSD Hard Drive
• PS5s equipped with Ray Tracing
• Ultra HD Blu-Ray compatibility

It's important to remember that this conference is being held by Sony, and PlayStation is just one of Sony's many products. It's therefore quite logical that the company would also focus on its other products (Sony's shares are up 3.20% 10 hours after this conference, coincidence?).
