Tutorial: How to install FPS paddles on a PS5 controller

Materials needed to install FPS pallets
Before you begin, make sure you have:
✔️ A compatible PS5 controller (BDM-30, BDM-40 or BDM-50)

✔️ A soldering iron
✔️ A plastic tab
✔️ A clean and well-lit workspace
Step 1: Disassembling the PS5 Controller
Before adding the FPS paddles , you need to disassemble the PS5 controller:
1️⃣ Remove the screws located under the side handles with a suitable screwdriver.
2️⃣ Carefully separate the back cover and set it aside.
3️⃣ Pay attention to the internal cables that connect the components to avoid damaging them.
Step 2: Desoldering and preparing the triggers
To install the FPS paddles , you must prepare the internal circuit:
1️⃣ Unsolder the triggers, the green wires on the motherboard (see image below).
2️⃣ Secure the soldering plug with temporary adhesive so that it does not move.
3️⃣ Solder the plug properly , then reconnect the green wires to the kit.
4️⃣ Solder the wires of the pallets following the diagram in the tutorial.
💡 Important: Make sure each connection is secure before continuing!
Step 3: Fixing and connectors
1️⃣ Remove the adhesive that held the plug in place.
2️⃣ Fit the new plug onto the original one , making sure it clicks into place.
3️⃣ Install the connector for the touchpad , it must clip in securely without forcing.
Step 4: Reassembling and connecting the FPS paddles
1️⃣ Glue the paddle circuit to the battery to secure it.
2️⃣ Connect the touchpad and FPS paddles to the circuit.
3️⃣ Check the alignment of all components before closing the controller.
Step 5: Installing the FPS Palettes
1️⃣ Position the paddles on the rear hull , making sure that the rods fit properly into the holes provided for this purpose.
2️⃣ Adjust them with a screwdriver if necessary .
3️⃣ Screw the kit onto the rear hull .
4️⃣ Insert the FPS paddles into their location with the provided rods.
💡 Tip : Test the movement of the paddles before closing everything to make sure they work properly.
Step 6: Installing the Stop Triggers
Trigger Stops reduce trigger travel, providing faster and more accurate shooting in-game. Additionally, it adds mouse clicks to L2 and R2 .
1️⃣ Stick the red adhesives on the big L2 and R2 clicks.
2️⃣ Remove the red part and glue them on the white piece.
3️⃣ Repeat the operation for L1 and R1 then removing the white paper.
4️⃣ Install the part that allows you to activate/deactivate the Trigger Stops . It must fit perfectly, without forcing.
5️⃣ Secure the Trigger Stops with the screws provided . Be careful not to use screws that are too long, as this could damage the hull.
6️⃣ Connect the Stop Triggers to the paddle circuit .
Step 7: Final reassembly and testing
Before closing the controller completely, perform a quick test :
🎯 Check that the FPS paddles are responding correctly by testing each assigned button.
🎮 Test the Trigger Stops to ensure they are properly installed.
If everything works correctly, close the controller and enjoy your new optimized FPS controller!
